Fall 2017 Trends
With Fall just around the corner, and back to school in full swing, its about that time where the Fall trends debuted back in February start making their way into the stores. As I’m preparing to open my boutique I’m knee deep in this Fall’s best, and excited to share with you some of my favorite Fall 2017 trends!
Vintage Inspired Furs
Go through your grandmother’s closet and fish out those old furs, because vintage inspired furs are where it’s at this Fall! If you don’t have a hand me down to utilize, or you don’t want real fur, there are tons of great alternatives in fun shapes and colors, both real and faux. DVF, for example, ran a great ad campaign featuring vibrant blue and orange furs for this season. If you are interested in faux, THEHAUTEMAVEN will have its own line of faux fur coats in 3 amazing colors along with a classic black.
If you are looking to make a statement with color this season, the color to do it with is Red! It can be a coat, pair of trousers, a dress, or a spectacular pair of boots. My personal favorite: Fendi’s over the knee leather and stretch red boot, worn on the runway by Bella Hadid. Paired with a short dress and long blazer, as shown on the runway, or with a fun patterned dress, it makes the perfect statement piece. If you are looking for something a tad more cost effective, Stuart Weitzman has a great red boot as well.
Miranda Priestley may have joked about florals for spring, but how do we feel about florals for Fall? Well, I hope you are all warmed up to the idea, because they are going to be all over this season. Maybe try hitting up grandma’s closet again. From Alessandro Michele’s bold florals for Gucci (even debuted new scent entitled Bloom), to Balenciaga and Derek Lam, flowers are blooming all around.
Not entirely new, as velvet did make an appearance last fall, however, expect this trend to carry over. Which means, I hope you didn’t Poshmark any of last year’s pieces, because you will be kicking yourself. From luxurious street chic robes and evening wear, to sexy heels, and stunning handbags, velvet is making a huge appearance this fall. I personally am excited for Zara’s fun velvet robe, and a few I their velvet blazers. You can also count on my favorite go to line, Gucci for spectacular velvet handbags and pumps (honestly, you can pretty much count on them for a little bit of each of these trends; with some of them overlapping).
Bedroom to the Streets
Don’t listen to what your mother used to say…pajamas can be worn out of the house! At least this season they can. Anything from a silky button down top, to satin pajama pants, pj chic is an incredible look to perfect this year end. Try a fun pajama pant with a cozy sweater and some heels, or a pajama top with a great pair of denim. You can even just wear the whole set with a pair of heels and a clutch. Old rules don’t apply anymore when it comes to nightwear. See: Gucci, Zara, Anine Bing
So there you have my favorite trends for this upcoming fall season. Seeing as Fall is my favorite season of them all, I am immensely excited about trying out all of these looks, and I hope you are too!
